Eesti Õpilasesinduste Liit
Project overview
Youth organisation website
Eesti Õpilasesinduste Liit (EÕEL), the Estonian School Student Councils’ Union, is a national youth organisation that represents students through its member schools in dealings with the state, local governments and other institutions, as well as internationally. We redesigned the union’s existing website, reorganised its menu and content, highlighted news, events and member schools, and simplified joining, donating and student enquiries.
Challange
One clear website for student union news, members and joining
The union’s website serves very different audiences: students, student councils, schools, partners and the media. It had to bring together news, documents and events, present member schools, and let schools join and supporters donate. It was also important that a student facing a problem at school could contact the union easily, and that content was comfortable to read on a phone.
Solution
Student union WordPress website built with Avada
We redesigned the website on WordPress using the Avada theme and its page builder. The menu covers the union itself (about, documents, members, events and projects, symbols and awards), donations, joining, information for member schools, news and contacts. The homepage features the latest news and calls for candidates, the union in numbers, a member schools section and galleries of past events. Student enquiries and contact requests are handled by Gravity Forms, and documents can be viewed directly on the site. Cloudflare adds speed and protection, and Google Analytics tracks visits. The site is fully responsive.
